The University of California's New Rules

The University of California has come out with some "new rules". The university is headed by Janet Napolitano. Yes, the same Napolitano who was the former head of Homeland Security under president Obama.

She was the "brain" behind insisting that terrorist attacks be referred to as “man-caused disasters.” Well, she's at it again.

She has issued a list of phrases/statements which are to be henceforth considered "microaggressions". What is a "microaggression"? Simply, it is something that conveys "unintended discrimination". Accordingly, even if you do not think of yourself as racist, you really are - and "microaggressions" prove it.

This California University now even has a group focused on the subject, "Diversity In The Classroom".

Here are but a very few "gems" from the list. If a person does or says anything from the list, the person is exhibiting discriminatory/racist deeply held - or even overt - beliefs:

A person asking an Asian American or Latino American to teach them words in their native language.

Statement: “There is only one race, the human race.”

Statement: “America is a melting pot.”

Statement: “I believe the most qualified person should get the job.”

Statement: “Gender plays no part in who we hire.”

Statement: “America is the land of opportunity.”

This is political correctness at its worst. Such teaching/preaching only serves to drive peoples apart - not bring them together.

A furthering of Napolitano's "message" serves to engender a fear in students and teachers alike that ANYTHING they say could be offensive. No wonder so many of the youth today spend their time "texting" vs. human interaction.
